Starting Sunday October 3rd, 2010 at 4:00 PM, the “Tridentine Mass” (also known as the “Latin Mass”) will be celebrated at least once a month on the first Sunday of the Month at SS Peter and Paul Church in Wis. Rapids (110 1st Street North) by the religious order, the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Pope Benedict XVI wishes that the treasure of the traditional Roman liturgy, which was celebrated without change for centuries and centuries, should be preserved for all generations. Pope Benedict said that the Tridentine Mass “must be given due honor for its venerable and ancient usage.” For more information, call 715-423-1351 or e-mail sspeter_paul@hotmail.com.SS Peter & Paul Parish
...well the Ordinary Form of the Mass is also the Latin Mass(that is why we are getting a new English translation from the Latin). It's great to see the Traditional Latin Mass will now be available in Wisconsin Rapids. Sts Peter and Paul Church is also online, with a nice looking website. I hope that they get enough interest to offer the Extraordinary Form weekly. Priests from the Institute of Christ the King will be offering Mass. The hope is to have a Sung High Mass.
A few photos of SS Peter & Paul from their website.

LOL, THAT is what I like to hear! It's like there's an awakening in Wisconsin... an awakening from liturgical nightmares(and please DONT bring up the Polka Mass or I will not sleep for another week!)Our church is also undergoing a current renovation to remove all the carpet and to get new tile floor. Additional embellishments are also underway to remove everything from the 70s.

Why get rid of the 70's stuff. many are still around that helped purchase that stuff and it is historical...
Anon, the main reason is that it's not Catholic. Vatican II called for authentic liturgical renewal and that is what we must follow.
I know this is an old post, and I do not mean this to sound rude, but the comment by "anonymous" made me laugh. :-)
"Why get rid of the 70s stuff..."
That read to me like this: "Why get rid of all the really tacky, cheap looking stuff from the decade when everyone had really bad taste? Many people with really cheap taste are still around that helped purchase that tacky stuff that looks cheap (even though it probably wasn't). 40 years old is ANCIENT, and we love history - just not anything historical enough to go back before 50 years. Were not really fans of the church for the last 1,960 years before that. But the last 50 years? Thumbs up! Very historical and important to save - because, you know, tacky stuff that looks cheap is great!"

Once again, I did not mean that to sound rude...but um, the 70s? That's like "why get rid of afros and bell bottoms." :-)
