Senator Rich Zipperer and Representative Robin Vos today began circulating for co-sponsorship a piece of legislation that would opt Wisconsin out of abortion coverage under the health care exchanges created by the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) (Obamacare). "We greatly appreciate the leadership of Senator Zipperer and Representative Vos on this important issue," said Susan Armacost, Wisconsin Right to Life Legislative Director. "Wisconsin citizens should not be placed in the position of subsidizing abortion coverage. The PPACA specifically allows States to prohibit coverage of abortions under the health care plans offered through the exchanges. We look forward to this legislation being enacted into law."
