In Proposition:
  • Peter Hitchens  -  one of Britain's most controversial socially conservative commentators, who regularly writes for the Mail on Sunday.  His book A Brief History of Crime deals with the death penalty extensively and he has witnessed two executions in the US
  • Prof John McAdams  -  Professor of Political Science at Marquette University in Wisconsin.  After completing his PhD at Harvard, he has attracted scholarly attention for his work on a variety of issues including the death penalty and the JFK assassination
From his blog:
As you can imagine, it’s quite an experience to be in Oxford.

Among other things I’ve noticed: in any university town people jaywalk.

But jaywalking in the UK can be dangerous for an American, who is used to looking to the left at first when crossing the street, and then to the right. Probably a few Americans have been killed because the Brits drive on the wrong side of the road.
