Roundup: Shhhhhh edition

The Art of Manliness is doing a series A Primer on Greek Mythology.  I have yet to read but plan to in my copious amount of spare time.  (I also double checked the spelling on copious)

Bp Callahan points out on his blog Joe Biden's lie about the HHS mandate.... without using Biden's name... perhaps to satisfy everybody's favorite lawyer. Well the USCCB didn't name him by name in their statement either.

Abp. Listecki talks Our Lady of the Rosary! Not sure if their webmaster reads this, but there is a Wordpress extension for Joomla.  I know it seems redundant and I prefer the Joomla interface, but I guess the theory is Wordpress is easier if you have less technical people updating.

Good Counsel Homes, caring for homeless mothers and babies, gives their Reflection Award to Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke[video], Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura in Rome at Good Counsel's 15th Annual Awards Celebration.  Hmm, very interesting video, worth a listen.

After the Packers highly motivated win over the Texans, quarterback Aaron Rodgers was asked what message he sent the "critics" with his (and the team's) performance, Rodgers said: "Shhhhhhhhh," and walked off camera with a smile.

Don't forget, Religious Freedom Rallies are this Saturday

And 40 Days for Life continues to be strong in Wisconsin:
Halfway through this fall's 40 Days for Life campaign, an incredible 198 babies have been saved--and those are just the saves that have been confirmed. Wisconsin's campaigns have certainly helped add to that total. Milwaukee's campaign typically is among the nation's leaders for saved babies, and the Madison vigil reported a turnaround on Friday.

But while it's easier to count the number of saved babies at locations like Milwaukee and Madison, there's no doubt that the vigil is having an impact at each of Wisconsin's eight sites. For example, Green Bay's campaign recently caught the attention of Fox 11 News. This demonstrates that prayer is just as effective at hospitals and birth control dispensaries, even if it's sometimes answered a little differently.

One of our favorite anecdotes from the sidewalks this fall came just this past weekend when the campaign leaders of the La Crosse and Stevens Point were traveling to visit friends and made a quick stop at the Madison vigil site. To their surprise, they found a bachelor party. The groom-to-be and his friends decided to make praying for an end to abortion part of their festivities!
A week later and I still haven't posted pictures of recent overt and covert operations throughout the state.  Reading Fr. Heilman's book, I now have taken to thinking in military references.  By the way, he mentioned that National Catholic Register was going to be doing a piece on the Knights of Divine Mercy.  Watch for it!

Alright, big news for our state coming up next.
