On first Christmas Eve as cardinal, Cupich visits children's hospital

Newly minted Cardinal Blase Cupich spent his first Christmas Eve in the prestigious role with some of Chicago's most vulnerable: the patients of Lurie Children's Hospital.

After all, Cupich said, Christmas is a day of children.

"It's a reminder to us that God comes to reveal who God is in the face of a child," he said in remarks to the media before his visit with patients, their families and hospital staff. "So I really feel privileged that I'm going to witness that presence of God in these young people."
