Good Help Shrine welcomes new COO

(Champion, Wis.) – The National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help has welcomed Don Warden as its new chief operations officer. Warden joins the Shrine after having recently served as executive director of Elizabeth Ministry International.

“I am very excited to join The National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help as we carry forth Mary’s message to all those who continue to seek peace, hope and healing here,” Warden said. “By her Son’s will, Mary will continue to guide the growth here at Champion. And, just as Adele Brise followed Our Lady’s instructions when Mary appeared to her in 1859, we will continue to be stewards of Mary’s mission here at Champion Shrine. I am grateful and humbled by the opportunity to serve with the team at Champion.”

In his role as COO, Warden will serve under the direction of the newly-established board of trustees of the non-profit National Catholic Marian Shrine located in Champion, WI. He will lead a team of professionals recently assembled at Champion to shepherd it through the era of steady growth and expansion it has been experiencing since having been designated, in 2010, the only Church-approved Marian apparition site in the US and, subsequently, in 2016, a “National Shrine.” There are currently only a few dozen Marian apparition sites in the world similarly recognized and approved by the Catholic Church. Lourdes, Guadalupe and Fatima are among those approved Marian Apparition sites with which Champion now shares international recognition as a worldwide pilgrimage destination.

Warden has more than 25 years of strategic planning and business management experience in both manufacturing and religious organizations. In the local Diocese of Green Bay, he has been involved in the Esto Vir men’s group which challenges men to live extraordinary faith and leadership in everyday life. Warden and his wife, Rose, have been blessed with five living children and two already in God’s care.

“Don brings with him a strong business and strategic planning background and a unique understanding, as a faithful pilgrim and practicing Catholic, of the importance of Our Lady of Good Help in helping others to know the peace and healing of her son, Jesus,” said Walter Fountain, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. “We feel he will help our team better position Champion Shrine to bring the Blessed Mother’s message and mission to many more pilgrims in the coming years.”

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help is located at 4047 Chapel Drive in Champion, centrally located between Green Bay, Sturgeon Bay and Algoma. It is open 365 days a year, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, visit www.ShrineOfOurLadyOfGoodHelp.com.
