Green Bay priest served as priest for 69 years - wow

Rev. Lawrence A. "Casey" Stingle, 95, died at his home Sunday, May 30, 2010, surrounded by friends who loved him.

At the age of 15, he entered St. Francis Seminary, St. Francis, Wis. He was ordained on May 31, 1941, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral by Bishop Paul P. Rhode.

Fr. Stingle was a man who loved his vocation as priest, enjoyed working with his parishioners, loved to travel and enjoyed his God-given life. He reflected on his life with these words: "The affirmation, cooperation and the respect shown me in my priesthood, in small parishes or large ones, together with the presence of Christ in the Eucharist made my vocation to the priesthood the greatest gift God could have given me. Starting a new parish in 1959 was a great challenge, but the parishioners made it a joy and success."
