Victims of sex abuse by Catholic priestsSNAP wants state Senate Democrat Jim Sullivan to explain why he voted against a bill to protect those victims. [If you remember correctly, this bill had nothing to do with putting children protection in place. All it did was extend the statue of limitations, allowing for trial lawyers to solicit from a larger pool from which to file civil lawsuits. Why doesn't $NAP file criminal charges?]
In an e-mail, a lobbyist for trial lawyers said Sullivan told him he opposed the bill because he wants to keep getting Communion every Sunday[This claim is so ridiculous that clearly he has ulterior motives. Sullivan is pro-abortion and is publicly pouting because his Faith requires him to be held up to a moral standard. Or perhaps he's trying to Alinsky the Church for SNAP or maybe just doing it for cash.] . But the Milwaukee Archdiocese said it never spoke to Sullivan about denying him Communion over the issue. And the Wisconsin Catholic Conference never made such a comment, either. [Funny, then why is he claiming it]
Sullivan is a [Death] Democrat from Wauwatosa. He has not elaborated on the e-mail, which came from trial lawyers’ lobbyist Joe Strohl. Catholic leaders actively opposed the bill, which would have eliminated the statute of limitations on civil suits involving all sex abuse against childhood victims. The church said it could bankrupt them. [Closing down churches, hospitals and schools doesn't solve the problem] The bill died when the session ended last month, but supporters vow to bring it back in 2011.
A number of years ago, former La Crosse Bishop Raymond Burke talked about denying Communion to politicians who voted against Catholic doctrine[regarding issues like abortion and euthanasia. the writer of this article seems a bit confused themselves]. But it never happened, and the new Milwaukee archbishop – Jerome Listecki – said he would consider it only in extreme cases. The Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests have asked Listecki to promise in writing that he’d never threaten a loss of Communion to block bills that would help abuse victims. [It's too bad there isn't a group out there for victims that really wants to help them. SNAPs answer to any problems; let's take away all the Church's money and then they cant hurt kids. What about a group that helps victims with real healing and works with the dioceses for ways to prevent it from happening again.]

In Light of the Law touches on what Sen Jim Sullivan might be referring to; where Listecki says he would not necessarily deny communion to a pro-abort(at least not initially).

Sullivan is a (D) liberal in a very moderate-to-conservative district, and he has real competition this year from L. Vukmir (R).
He's running scared, besides silly.
really? you consider this commentary?
