Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle. 2 Thes 2:15
Gone fishing...
Be back in a week! Thanks to Ray at Stella Borealis for recommendations on church. There are rumors there is wi-fi available in literally no mans land. I am going to try my best to unplug and REEEAD, and of course fish. I'm hoping to take on Good Bye, Good Men; The Way of a Pilgrim; and maybe The Silmarillion which I've oddly enough not read yet. I get into so many discussions about Tolkien's creation account and I've never even read it. I'm sure the kiddies will enjoy some fresh air.
A week and a half until the installation of Bishop Callahan(Wednesday Aug 11th). It will be interesting to see if he addresses the Fr. Umberger situation(maybe a bit indirectly). I will be at the installation Mass.

Great photo. Where'd you find it?
Oddly enough, I never heard of the Silmarillion. Tolkien was just becoming hugely popular as I was leaving school for the Army. Never did pick him up. Didn't start hearing about him until the 80s maybe.
Ray, I cant find it today. I try to remember to link back to photos but I forgot. I was searching on Google images which is INCREDIBLY FRIGHTENING when searching for "nuns".
Silmarillion came out after Tolkien's death and was finished by his son. Basically it is the prequel to the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings... the story about how middle earth came about. Incredibly Catholic take on creation, the fall, ect. I've heard its worth just reading the first chapters on the creation.
