A Madison woman who helps low-income women afford abortions[instead of baby formula] said an August profile of her in the State Journal led to thousands of dollars in donations, while an anti-abortion organization said the article resulted in new financial support for its efforts, too.
Poor children, bad for Wisconsin
Anne Nicol Gaylor, 83, administers the Women's Medical Fund from her dining room table. At the time of the Aug. 22 article, the fund had helped pay for 18,986 abortions in 34 years. [Homicidal Maniac]
Gaylor said she received no hate mail after the article ran. [Shocking that was even reported] However, an attorney working on her behalf sent "cease and desist" letters to two Catholicism-related websites and to a blogger affiliated with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for comments about Gaylor considered inflammatory and "actionable," said Gaylor's daughter, Annie Laurie Gaylor. [Although I was mentioned on Jill Stanek's blog and McIlheran JSOnline blog, I did not receive any threats from lawyers(someone asked).]
Two days after the article ran, Anne Nicol Gaylor said she received a $10,000 check from someone who previously had not been a donor and who referenced the article as motivation for the donation. In the last six weeks, the fund has taken in about $50,000, which includes money generated from a fundraising letter, she said. [*yawn* Gee wiz, I bet that wasn't planned]
Pro-Life Wisconsin saw an increase in donations for its billboard campaign in Milwaukee that promotes help for women and men in crisis pregnancies, said the organization's state director, Peggy Hamill, whose opposition to the fund was included in the article.
Although anti-abortion activists were aware of the fund, the article solidified opposition to it and expanded people's commitment to making sure alternatives are available, Hamill said.
Obviously a piece planned prior to the original Gaylor article, so as to predictably "prove" that pro-life activism is self defeating. Ms. Gaylor is still a homicidal maniac(but we can still pray for her) and the way she oppresses the poor is a terrifying reality. Gaylor in the original article admitted essentially to being a eugenicist (like Margaret Sangar) and hopes to eliminate undesirable types of people(the poor) from society - so the well to do may continue to live in luxury.

So you're saying you want there to be poor people? Poor people are a group worth preserving? Like blacks or Asians or Kenyans? I don't get it. We should be working to eliminate poverty. Don't you think?
