Fond du Lac priest & Weakland favorite advocates for women "priests"

Father Victor Capriolo of Fond du Lac’s Holy Family Parish:
I am aware also that Saint Paul says the various distinctions we use to categorize and divide one another are not appropriate for the Church. “There does not exist among you Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female.” (Galatians 3:28).

I’m sure women can relate well to their belonging to the Church as the bride of Christ; but, I wonder, how can men do that? As baptized members of the Church, men are part of the Body of Christ; but can they see themselves as the bride of Christ?

If the body of Christ is both male and female, I wonder … if there were both male and female priests as head of the Church, then that spousal image of Christ and his Church would make better sense for both men and women.

It is true Christ chose only men to comprise the Twelve; but he also chose at least one married man to be among them (Matt. 8:14). Saint Paul says there were more. (I Cor.9:5).

If the Church has seen fit to mandate celibacy for all of its ordained priests — something Christ did not do — I wonder if at some later time, the church’s teaching about women priests might also be changed?

Y'know, it is absolutely amazing how people can still be complaining -- oh, I'm sorry, WONDERING -- about this sort of thing. Last I looked, I'm too short and don't have adequate vision to become a jet fighter pilot, but you don't see me sending letters to the MSM about how the government shouldn't discriminate towards people born that way.

Now, how is it that a priest is so uneducated as this? Since he's so into using Scriptural quotes, I suggest he reads a little Romans -- maybe Romans 12:4-5...

This poor priest must not have been paying attention in his sacraments class nor when Pope John Paul II reiterated authentically and dogmatically that the Church has NO competence to ordain women. As for married priests, what woman in her right mind would want one for a husband???

Kat, I don't know if you can qualify heterodox seminary formation as him being "educated."

I agree Father. How many times can the Holy See reiterate this before they start listening.

"heretics" what an insightful label for you to use. Are you competent to judge and exercise the office of the Magisterium?
Well, the heretic priest died on August 22, 2012. May God be more merciful than you can imagine.
