Robinsonville versus Champion

A is Robinsonville
Champion is a little closer
And there is the Shrine on the right
The mailing address is New Franken

So is the the Robinsonville Shrine or the Champion Shrine or the New Franken Shrine?

The way my aunt explained it, the unincorporated town used to be Robinsonville, but then moved and became Champion. I didn't really understand it, so maybe I got that wrong. New Franken is just where the post office is. My aunt always calls it the shrine in Robinsonville, because that's where it started.

It is the Champion Shrine. No Doubt.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (December 8, 2010) -- Bishop David Ricken announced today that he officially approves the Marian apparitions at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help at Champion.

1890
Death of Sr. "Maggie" (Marguerite Allard), Sr. Adele’s assistant and secretary for their religious community.
Sometime between 1890 and 1896, through a suggestion made by Sr. Adele, the town of Robinsonville changes its name to Champion, which in a way fulfilled the promise she made to the Blessed Mother.

So I wonder how long the unincorporated Champion has been around? Kat that is interesting that your aunt still calls it Robinsonville even after Champion became an unincorporated community. It makes me think Robinsonville has been there longer. I know one of the apparitions, Our Lady appeared to Sister Adele as she was walking back from Robinsonville.

I believe Kat is correct...the town used to be Robinsonville but is now Champion. Those of us who have lived in the area, however, have always called it "Robinsonville". If I said to my sister, "Do you want to go to Robinsonville?" it would be understood that I was talking about the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help.

Seeing as I am a traditionalist and all, I'll probably keep referring to it as Robinsonville then.
