As we have taken the circle as the symbol of reason and madness, we may very well take the cross as the symbol at once of mystery and of health. Buddhism is centripetal, but Christianity is centrifugal: it breaks out. For the circle is perfect and infinite in its nature; but it is fixed for ever in its size; it can never be larger or smaller. But the cross, though it has at its heart a collision and a contradiction, can extend its four arms for ever without altering its shape. Because it has a paradox in its centre it can grow without changing. The circle returns upon itself and is bound. The cross opens its arms to the four winds; it is a signpost for free travellers.Orthodoxy(The Maniac) - GK Chesterton
By the way, let me say that I was undecided leading into this week on how I felt about the legislation. But now, after seeing Wisconsin teachers illegally shut down schools, the President of the USA attacks our governor, the DNC funds a Madison protest, and @WISenDems flee the scene in Madison as if dead prostitutes were found in the bottom of Lake Mendota, I am decided. It proves that these labor unions in question had absolutely nothing to do with organized labor and everything to do with politics of the day. All of these unions have supported abortion legislation. Can someone explain what that has to do with labor rights? Calling your political party a union doesn't make it any less of a political party.

Spencer Black was just asked by caller: You are for "choice" for pregnancy, so you back unions "forcing" me to be in union as firefighter, when I want to speak for myself, represent myself.
The circle may also be seen as symbloic of sin, which is self-abusing, other-abusing, and self-perpetuating. Victims become vitimizers, creating ever more victims.
There is a terminus for the Cross; at the intersection of the four directions of the Cross is objective Truth, a Man/God, breaking out of the circle of sin, and stretching His arms to all.
