Cedar Valley Catholic Schools will put cutting-edge technology in the hands of its students next fall.iStock
After initially planning to issue laptop computers to each student in grades six through 12, CVCS officials have made a slight revision. Each student will receive an Apple iPad 2 tablet computer as part of the system's one-to-one technology initiative. CVCS includes Columbus High School and three Waterloo Catholic grade schools.
Students who receive an iPad 2 will pay an annual $200 technology fee. It is the first time the school system has had a technology fee. A meeting is planned March 21 at Columbus to explain the plan further.
"It's not a switch in our philosophy, our vision and our mission for one-to-one," said Jeff Frost, CVCS director of education. "We're continuing the path and the mission we set out two years ago when we decided to be a one-to-one school."
Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle. 2 Thes 2:15
