I just got back (to Green Bay) from the Island of Curacao which is part of the Dutch Antilles. We went to Palm Sunday Mass at St Willibrordus church. The mass was in Papiamento the local language of the non-dutch locals.
The first thing we noticed was the attendance at mass of the Islands 3 motorcycle clubs. Just before the closing of mass the club members approached the apse and they received a special blessing from the priest.
It also appears that the Catholics there are Packer fans. I have attached a photo of a Church painted in the green and gold. Also a picture of the highway sign indicating the direction to the town of St Willibrordus. Someone couldn’t keep themselves from honoring one of the Packer Greats although he missed an “e”.
I can neither confirm nor deny these reports. It would seem though that biker blessings and rooting for the greatest franchise in sports is something all sensible Catholics can enjoy!
PS> Did you realize the Green Bay Packers are SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS!!!! ..... just checkin'
