Abortion is an extremely important pastime in these counties.  25 Sconnie babies aborted every day.

Of course, we can just get signatures for a recall election in a few months.  That's how this works right?

I can't help but notice that a lot of these counties are the sort of places the Madison or East Side of Milwaukee set would turn up their noses at and deride as "hick" sort of places. Isn't rural Wisconsin "cling to guns and religion" country as much as any other rural place?

I am always told Ashland, Douglass, and Bayfield counties are so deep blue due to a legacy of "progressive"/borderline socialist Finnish immigration circa 1880-1920, but come on that is a long time to be running on fumes considering all the other political upheveals our country has seen since then.

As to the multipe college-counties, back when I was at a UW school it was a rather common thing for students from out-of-state to decide where to vote based on where there vote would mean more. I.E. if their homestate was IL and there was a close race going on they would get the absentee ballot, but if, as was usually the case, the real close elections were going to be in Wisconsin, they would vote as Wisconsin residents (hey they lived in in a dorm here since September right?)

I don't know what really can be done about this but in an election this close, well you can't tell me there were less than 200 votes cast by say coasties at UW-Madison who spent their whole lives in New England and will move back there the day after graduation.

Also, Walker can take heart at this election. The left/unions were fired up, mobilized, and out in force. They claim something like 70% of the state was against Walker. If even at full mobilization the best they can do is squeak by with 200 votes they are in trouble with those recall elections.

I have a feeling that "pro-life" teachers went and voted for Kloppenburg because they think that means they wont have to contribute to their healthcare or retirement fund.

Interesting info, thanks for sharing! No doubt sober/notsosober students made their way to the polls also.
