WisRapidsTrib: St. Joseph found in rectory attic

"We were house cleaning the rectory attic and found him," said Susie Budzinski, a member of the Wisconsin Rapids parish.

The "him" Budzinski referred to is St. Joseph -- well, a statue of him, anyway.

Apparently, the statue had been gathering dust since it was removed and stored during a late 1990s remodeling project.

When the figure was discovered a couple of months ago, it needed more than a good dusting.

The first step was to repair damage. That's where parishioner Jim Balzer came in.Balzer remembered the statue being in the church when he and his wife, Elaine, were married in 1961.

*cough* I wonder why the statue was stashed away in the first place.  There are probably some in the parish upset that he was found.
