ProvEmails: Those who have ears, too, here

The suburban weekly Now newspaper reported on the Greendale Tall Corn Contest.

"For those looking for some divine intervention in their favor, [Anne Marie] Pelkofer has this 'tidbit' to add to the mix, courtesy of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Greendale.

"'Father Alan (Jurkus), who is the pastor at St. Alphonsus, stopped by today with holy water in a little Tupperware container, and he said if you plant (the corn) and then sprinkle holy water on it, it'll grow even bigger,' she said."

Don't even ASK real Catholic members of Christ,King parish in Wauwatosa what Fr Jurkus was doing there, just after his Ordination.

Suffice it to say that it did not fall within established liturgical norms.

Dad29 as a current refugee from St. Al's, I would be very curious what was going on at Christ King if you care to share...

I generally stay away from liturgical posts here, because commenting on how the Roman Catholic Church celebrates its canons is really none of my business. But I was a little curious about this one. I'm familiar with St. Alphonsus, because I used to drop off and pick up there when I drove a paratransit route. And I honestly couldn't tell if our Badger friend from the other side of the state was being sarcastic, or reverent. I still can't tell, from the other comments here. I just don't know.

Where in the rubrics does it say "the priest, laying on the floor, begins the Mass...."??
