Bob Biebel, former business manager for the Appleton Catholic Education System, will assume the president's role on July 1 after Superintendent Rob Becker, who has been acting as interim president, leaves.
UCS board president Carol Joseph announced the administrative restructuring in a letter to parents and staff dated June 1.
"(Biebel) has got the commitment to Catholic education, the drive and the enthusiasm. And, he brings a very diverse background of experiences for our system," Joseph said.
Becker, a former Oshkosh public school principal, became the first and only superintendent of UCS after the position was created beginning in the 2009-10 school year. He was named interim president prior to the 2010-11 school year when former president Tony Blando took a leave of absence and later resigned to work for Sen. Ron Johnson.
Becker and Joseph both declined to comment on Becker's departure.
Board member Peg Larson said the superintendent position was cut for budgetary reasons.
