Fake Iowa monk owes thousands in Illinois

Ryan St. Anne Scott, an alleged monk with an operation in Buchanan County, will get additional time to file necessary financial documents in a bankruptcy case pending in Illinois.

In the meantime, dozens of creditors --- including many small businesses where a few hundred dollars represent a significant loss --- wonder whether they will ever see any money. At least some have concluded they will not.

"I hope that people see him for who he is before he takes advantage of them like he did to several in Galesburg," Lori Mangieri said.

Her employer, Trilutions, repairs computers and is among the creditors waiting for Scott to pay.

Scott, whose real name is Randell Stocks, did not respond to an email requesting comment.

Scott initiated a case earlier this month in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Peoria on behalf of what he called the Holy Rosary Abbey in Galesburg. On Tuesday, his attorney, Larry Spears of Bloomington, Ill., asked for an extension

& how long before he abandons those llamas & Buchanan County as well.
Monastic Fleece may be a more appropriate name for their operation than most people realize. This guy is a con man. & from what I see he is operating here just as he did in Illinois.
Maybe it is even a little more disgusting to me because he is operating near where I grew up, Oelwein.
