Reedsburg WI CCD teacher during class: "Governor Walker's move was to keep blacks, Hispanics, the elderly from voting"

I have received an undercover audio recording of a Catholic religion instructor in Reedsburg, WI talking to his students about "social justice" during CCD, or religion class.  Remember, these classes are required to receive the sacrament of Confirmation in the Church.  It cuts in where it appears he's discussing the new voter id law.  I tried to quick transcribe it, but if you notice anything that doesn't match the audio, let me know.

Update 1/26 - 9:21AM: The instructor is Jim Wieczorek, who is apparently on the school board.

Instructor: Do all of your parents have a drivers license?  Okay, so they don't look like your parents. Who do these people look like?  40 percent of black people, African Americans, 40 percent of African Americans from the age of 18 to 24 who are voting eligible have no ID.  They don't have a drivers license.  You look at Milwaukee and you don't need a drivers license.  You 'ave public transportation.  Where would you keep your car?  On the street?  Oh, haha, yeah.  For a short time.  So they don't get drivers licenses when they turn 16 or 18.  So, Governor Walker's move was to keep blacks from voting, to keep Hispanics from voting and to keep the elderly from voting.  That's a social injustice.  So you are right Drew, when you talk about Governor Walker.

Instructor: What are some other social injustices that we are aware of?

<student speaking>

Instructor: He does not want them to vote.  How do they vote?  Generally speaking, ya' got a Democrat party and a Republican party.  Blacks, Hispanics, and elderly people; how do they vote?

<student speaking>

Instructor:  Democratic.  They vote Democratic!  They are poor people!   Of course they would vote Democratic!   So if he(Walker) can eliminate 300,000 people from voting in the democratic election - super!  You see, he(Walker) passed a law, Michigan governor - Republicans passed a law, Ohio, Ohio passed a law like that.  Florida passed a law like that.

Instructor: Social injustice, what are some other examples of social injustice?

<student speaking>

Instructor: That's criminal injustice. That's not a social thing.  Half of the world is not, whatever her name is .......

<student speaking>

Instructor: We gotta look at the whole world.  What's social injustice in the whole world?  Creating a war against a smoldered nation, where we kill 100,000 of their people.  Passing laws that discriminate against blacks and Hispanics and the poor.  Taking all the money in the world and .... oh, here, I gotta tell you this one.

Instructor: What percentage of your parents income do you think they pay in taxes?  Roughly?  Alright an estimate, okay. Not... I don't want specifics.  You don't  .....  But, statistics show that middle income people, what most of your parents are, middle to lower, what percentage of their income, their wages, do they pay in taxes?  Where did you guess?  Johnny.

Johnny: 45.

Instructor: Okay, that's a good guess, yes.

<student speaking>

Instructor: 15?  15 is a good number.  Yes?

<student speaking>

Instructor: Yes, 10 percent?  Drew?

Drew: 50?

Instructor: 50 percent? Half of the money they made goes to taxes?  'kay.  Yes....30 .....17 ... .....  yes, after you guess all the number eventually we're gonna get em right?

Instructor: About 30 to 35 percent of the money they make, that your parents make, goes for taxes.  30 to 35 percent!  Nobody likes to pay taxes.  But it's really hard when someone that has $300,000,000 in their pockets and pays less than your parents do.  ... 15 percent.  Romney, running for the Republican presidential nomination....  15 percent or less.  15%!  Your parents are paying twice that!  He pays less taxes than his secretary does.

<student speaking>

Instructor: Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.

<student speaking>

Instructor: That's an interesting point that you bring up there.  Because you are absolutely right! We have nothing.  Everything we own is really God's, isn't it?  Your property is God's, this whole world is God's, your(belong to) God's.  He can do what he wants with ya.
If you ever wonder why half of Catholic consistently vote pro-abortion politicians in, here's why.  There's some valid discussion that could go on here, but claiming that Governor Walker intends to disenfranchise 300,000 people by passing this law is ludicrous.  He is passing this law to help ensure fair and legal elections.  Naysayers have provided no alternatives.  But all of this is really beyond the point.  The teacher lies about the Governor to help promote his political party and philosophy in the name of Catholic doctrine.  And guess what; it happens everywhere.  And I'll give you one guess how much time he spends talking about abortion and sexuality.

I have two questions: 1) Was this recorded because of previous concerns of this instructor's content.

2) Has his DRE/ DYM/ Pastor been contacted about this issue?

FYI, I'm not approving home phone numbers in the comments. The parish(I assume Sacred Heart) is online here: www.sacred-heart-online.org

"And I'll give you one guess how much time he spends talking about abortion and sexuality. "

About as much time as the vast majority of our priests and deacons in this country in their sermons, I surmise.

This is an abomination. This man is a purveyor of of social injustices. There is not greater injustice to lie to the students whom he teaches. He should be dismissed immediately.

This makes me angry. It's political indoctrination couched as religious education. He's a materialist. All he's talking about is money and power.

AND...he's not even correct. It costs nothing to get an ID from the DMV. You don't need a DRIVER'S LICENSE. You simply need a picture ID to vote. I was shocked when we moved here from Kansas and realized that we didn't need to register in advance to vote or even show picture ID! It's a recipe for voter fraud.

Disgusting. I hope he's taken out of the classroom IMMEDIATELY. He's doing so much damage to our young people's souls.

Please, if you're Catholic, educate yourself and pray before teaching so that you can discern whether you are inclined to push your own agenda, or if you are honestly up to the task of loving what the Church loves and teaching what the Church teaches.

The Youtube content is gone. Big surprise. I wonder if there will be any changes in Reesdburg?

Shoot, I should have saved it. ... Hmm, I wonder if I have it cached in the browser...

This man should never be in a classroom anywhere. He should never be in charge of anything remotely connected to education. His blatant ignorance is appalling. He seems to be a classic nut case in need of intensive psychiatric care. How in Hell did this guy get into a classroom?

You all have no idea what you are talking about. I know this instructor. I also know that right after the recording was stopped they did talk about the injustice of abortion and the rights of the unborn. Non of you have any idea how devote a Catholic this man is so I suggest you all practice your Catholicism and judge lest you be judged. Don't make assumption on what you do not know.

Badger Catholic, did you find it cached in the browser? Don't let them get away with this!

I grew up with CCD classes that were mostly full of left-wing politics, of the dozens of students I was confirmed with only a tiny handful still identify as Catholic and that is usually along the lines of going to Church with their parents on Christmas and Easter.

I see you only post those opinions you agree with.

That's an interestingly unsubstantiated accusation, PDC. I disagree with BC frequently - even implied he was a crazy gun-toter once, IIRC - and he always posts my stuff. Maybe everyone here just agrees with him...and any others were somewhat tactless and/or rude.

I am sorry they removed the video from youtube. It should be left up indefinitely to expose the liberal indocrination of our children. In public schools, the same thing is going on, probably worse. My son is grown now, but if I had a child in school, and they began pushing their personal politics on him, I would immediately sue. This is the reason we have plummeting Meap scores, radical students, and regressing society. GET UNIONS out of public education and teaching! They are destroying our society.

He is on the school board, was a teacher and his daughter is a teacher in Reedsburg. Guess he is quitting the school board and going back to teaching part time. This is what is wrong with our school system. he shopud be fired from all jobs. He is not fit to teach our children. Then the teachers wondered why so many of us are upset with our school system.

My apologies here, I didn't get notified of a few of the comments and I have now published them. ... well Blogger is acting funny. I'll make sure these get posted. I did have to review them as people wanted to post home phone numbers which this is not the proper venue for that.

I was not able to recover the video from my cache. If I do find a way I will post but my cache is only saved for a week and the files I thought I had captured were not the actual video.

We of course all know that the rights of labor unions weigh far below the rights of the unborn when it comes to politics. If it is true that the teacher talked about rights of the unborn, I trust he made that point clear.

The video is back up, looks like the original poster moved it on youtube, so I re-embedded it.

Mr. Wieczorek is a former high school administrator... vietnam vet... cancer survivor... active member in the catholic church.... he was also ELECTED to the reedsburg school board... (ELECTED POSTITION). The republican party plays dirty (TRUE) they consider their specific "MORALS" above the general society's needs. Wieczorek is very intelligent and is wholly telling the truth. i was once a ccd student of his and he preaches god to his students (me included) so that they are intrigued and they listen. The students can decide, as they are nearly adults by now (grades 9-10), whether or not to listen to the truth in his word. Any disrespect towards this man would be frowned upon by god himself.

wholly supports Mr. Wieczorek. thank you for preaching the TRUTH to the people who need it most, the youth. He is an intelligent man who has served the people of this country, state, and CITY in so many ways being that he is a vietnam vet, former school administrator, ELECTED school board member, and very RESPECTABLE active member of the Catholic Church. he deserves the respect as such. THANK YOU WIECZOREK for enlightening these young adults to the most critical points within our state and national govt... and SOCIAL INJUSTICE

What does State and National govt have to do with Religion? 9th and 10th graders are not almost adults, they are 15 and 16 years old they have no idea about life. Why does WIECZOREK teach young people about govt, I think he needs to search in his heart abd keep his political ideas to himself. Nothing like trying to brain wash the young......

Anon: I'm not sure DRINKING the kool-aid is the best way to get PEOPLE to rally around Mr. Wieczorek. Thank you for CONFIRMING every notion I had about liberal Catholics in your COMMENTS. Cramming the ANCIENT faith of the Church into the tiny box of MODERN liberal politics is a SOCIAL INJUSTICE

So being a Vietnam vet, cancer survivor, and elected offical makes a person unquestionable, even when using a religious education class as a forum for partisan politics?

Let's imagine John McCain (Vietnam vet, cancer survior, elected offical) was teaching a religion class and then went onto a tangent about voter fraud (the GOP's equivillent talking-point to the dems theme of vote 'supression' via voter ID laws. Every single person must be fine with that?
