Letter: St. Peter didn't carry his sword for slicing bread at the dinner table

Reading the Milwaukee Catholic Herald is always a bit of a...... trip. You never know what you're going to find -- a full-color interview with a prostitute actress or an article calling on Catholic GOP candidates to stop racial stereotypes, signed by a number of, ahhh, "noted" Catholics, such as Marquette professor Fr. It might also be worth noting what Jesus had to say about those who live by the sword. He only said they would die by the sword. There were lots of other activities for which Jesus painted a rather grim picture of Gahenna, or millstones being tied around necks, or better to never have been born.

Therefore, while I'd prefer to avoid living and dying by the sword, if I must die by the sword I feel confident that Heaven is still a possibility.
