Abp. Listecki visits Chicago OFMs

OFM

The OFM are also stationed in La Crosse at Viterbo University.  So I did have a friar explain to me a while back that the OFMs are different than the OFM Conv. that Bishop Callahan is.  But Bishop Callahan is from Chicago too.  Confused?  Yes, always.

Yes BC, I have lost count of the number of Franciscan variations there are. It used to be just "OFM" and "OFM Cap" (Capuchins) but both wore brown habits of a slightly different shade.

I attended the Basilica years back when Bishop Callahan was "Fr. Bill" and the pastor there, I wondered why they wore black instead of the brown habits I associated with all Franciscans... Now you also have the Franciscans of the Immaculate in blue/grey. I'm lost!

LOL, right, the Friars of the Immaculate are blue. I noticed the friars at the basilica wore clothes under their habit so I assume they are not ordinarily wearing them as a habit as such. The FI's wear sandals all winter long, but I think they are permitted socks.
