On Jan. 8, 1983, Packers fans celebrated a 41-16 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs by trying to tear down the Lambeau Field goalposts. The postseason appearance, coming as part of a different playoff format resulting from the strike-shortened 1982 season, was the Packers' first in a decade, and the win was their first in the postseason since Super Bowl II.
