Cardinal Francis George will keep his previously scheduled public commitments after undergoing more medical tests this week to determine the source of cancerous cells in his liver and kidney, the Chicago Archdiocese said Monday.HT AS
George, 75, who battled bladder cancer six years ago, learned last week that the disease has returned to his kidney and liver. George's doctors will work with him to plan a course of treatment, according to a statement from the archdiocese.

Ironically, of course, Cardinal George (and the USCCB) is fulfilling his prophecy by failing to act properly as bishops in cleansing the Church hierarchy and institutions of dissidents. They have allowed the Church to be weakened and the sheep to be led astray. There will be no sheep to protest the arrest of his successor, assuming of course, that his successor will actually uphold Church teachings to risk prison--and that is not to be presumed. Church history is full of bishops that sell out for personal gain.
After the passage of the civil unions bill in Illinois, George pompously predicted, “I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square.”

You are wrong about Cdl George, and especially knowing the terrors of Cdl Bernardin & his Lavender Mafia I would think you would know better. Excommunicating everyone in a diocese doesn't solve problems.
Seriously Dude? You're not going to approve my reply? And you call yourself a Traditionalist? Holding the bishops above criticism is the Neo-Catholic, happy-clappy approach.
The bishops, George included, have shown an unwillingness to say and do the hard things on their own initiative. Shaming them publicly is the only slim chance we have of motivating the not-as-bad bishops to stop acting like bureaucrats and start acting like bishops.
You disappoint me.
Cassandra, there is a difference between constructive criticism(like citing specifics) and detraction. This post has to do with the quote the Cardinal gave after recognizing his persecution for supporting natural marriage and his failing health. If you are speaking specifically of his failure to discipline Fr. Michael Pfleger whom Cardinal George suspended at one point, that might be something worth mentioning. He also didn't invent episcopal conferences, Paul VI did.
I really think prayer is going to go alot further than "Shaming them publicly" with anonymous comments on blogs as far as fixing problems with country club bishops in this country.
