Yes, the Cathedral in La Crosse is situated that way as well. So some people still genuflect out of habit, some turn toward the chapel, some gave up and just run for the doors.
It's like on Good Friday -- we all genuflect by habit as we walk out of the pew, then catch ourselves midway and turn the "In the name of the Father" into a facepalm.
