Beardless Roundup

Fr Z had someone ask him about attending a Polka Mass.  I'm still having nightmares about this post

In case you were wondering how liturgy is doing at Marquette:
They are looking for a sacristan.

Well I managed to get one post in for Creative Minority Report.  One out of four, batting .250, I'd have to say that post was at least a double so we will say I'm slugging .500 (I actually have no idea how slugging percentage is calculated).

Fr Z tomorrow.  Cross Plains.  I'm bringing beer.

Archdiocese of Milwaukee has something called the "Vatican II Awards":
Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki invites you to a celebration honoring past and present recipients of the Archbishop’s Annual Vatican II Awards, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012. Join us for a 7 p.m. prayer service and awards ceremony, with a reception to follow, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 812 N. Jackson St., Milwaukee, WI 53202. To learn more about the Vatican II Awards, click here.
Maybe The Badger Catholic should sponsor the Trent Awards, or maybe the Nicaea Awards.

Woman shares story of alleged abuse by 3 priests Mason City, Iowa, 1970s.  Fears seeing a Roman collar and I don't blame her.

Are you following the Diocese of Madison on Facebook?  If not, ya should be.

Dale Ahlquist’s Chesterton Reading Plan.  Nuf said.

Men's Retreat with Deacon Ralph Poyo, Irene, South Dakota

Football right around the corner.  Hmm, that reminds me I should go look for some photos of the Bishop's Charity Game.

Funny story, my cousin plays for Luther in Onalaska.  They hadn't won a game in two years so last year his father(my uncle) said he refused to shave until they won a game; to which they managed zero victories.  Then in an offensive explosion they won their first game of this year by like 40 points.  All the kids helped shave his beard and kept a piece of it like when they cut down the nets for the final four.  Haha.

I was torn since I was rooting both for heretics and against the beard.  (kidding!)
