Gov't was very decentralized but Krakow was the Capital.

Some info from Wikipedia.

The Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth (or Union, after 1791 the Commonwealth of Poland) was a dualistic state of Poland and Lithuania ruled by a common monarch. It was the largest[2][3] and one of the most populous countries of 16th- and 17th-century Europe, with some 400,000 square miles (1,000,000 km2)[4] and a multi-ethnic population of 11 million at its peak in the early 17th century.[5] It was established at the Union of Lublin in July 1569 .
