Bp. Morlino suffered broken nose in Nov. 12th accident

Madison Catholic Bishop Robert Morlino broke his nose when he fell face-first after tripping on a Baltimore street Nov. 12.

Morlino revealed the extent of his injuries Thursday in his weekly column in The Catholic Herald, the newspaper of the Madison Catholic Diocese.

As I reported last week. Morlino was taken to a Baltimore hospital after tripping while walking and talking with friends on his way to dinner. He was in Baltimore for the annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Bishops.

In his column Thursday, Morlino, 65, wrote that he “took a spill and fell (with full weight) face-first into the pavement.” He “suffered several cuts, a broken nose, and a bruised knee,” he said, adding, “Thanks be to God, it wasn’t worse.”
