MN Legislators Want to Honor Author of Roe v. Wade with statue on Capitol

Minnesota state legislators are coming under fire for legislation that would create a bust of former Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun and place it in the state legislature.

Earlier today Senators Dibble, Latz, Bonoff and Pappas introduced a bill (SF 105) to have a bust made of U. S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun to be placed on the second floor of our Capitol. Blackmun is responsible for the Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade that legalized the killing of innocent unborn children nationwide.

The major pro-life group in the state is not happy with the idea of honoring the man who authored the Roe v. Wade opinion that led to nearly 56 million abortions. Scott Fischbach, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life Executive Director, told LifeNews:

“Legislation introduced today (S.F. 105) to place a bust of former Justice Harry Blackmun, author of the infamous 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion on demand, ought to be rejected by the Legislature.

Now if they were starting a Hall of Shame, I'd be all for it. You could put him between Hitler & Stalin & the other dictators who were responsible for the slaughter of millions of people in their countries.

I'm sure his supporters would say it was for all the other great things he did, not this 1 ruling. But that would be like honoring Mussolini for making the trains run on time in Italy & ignoring all the evils of his fascist dictatorship.
