The Winona area is blessed to welcome Sister Marie Paul Lockerd, RSM, DO, a family practice physician from Sacred Heart Mercy Health Care Center in Jackson. Dr. Lockerd is certified by the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha, Nebraska, as both a practitioner and medical consultant in the Creighton Model Method of Fertility Care.Winona Courier
This method may be used to avoid or to achieve pregnancy, and is also effective medical management for a wide range of gynecological problems such as irregular or abnormal menstrual cycles, polycystic ovarian disease, premenstrual syndrome, repetitive miscarriages, and chronic discharge. Dr. Lockerd will be providing medical evaluation and treatment using NaProTechnology, a natural procreative treatment in keeping with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
To the right of this article, you can find a chart that shows the great effectiveness of this method. InVitro Fertilization (IVF), not approved by the Catholic Church, has been heavily promoted by our society and even the medical community. From the chart, however, one can see that the success rate of NaProTechnology far exceeds IVF. It works with a woman's body to achieve the greatest results.
Over the last year, Dr. Lockerd has applied her knowledge of NaPro Technology to assist seven infertile couples in achieving pregnancy. The Creighton Model Fertility Care system teaches women to identify their biological markers of fertility. The medical intervention provided cooperates with a woman’s cycle, thus respecting her dignity and promoting good health.
Dr. Lockerd will be seeing patients at the Outreach Clinic of Winona Health. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call her office in Jackson at 507-847-3571.
