Details:
The goal of the Argument Club for Women is to provide a forum for Catholic apologetics on issues important to women by taking up many of the propositions promoted by our culture in a public debate. We take on this challenge in order to demonstrate that it is actually the Catholic perspective that offers women the answers they seek. Confident in the Church’s vast reservoir of practical wisdom, her brilliant and nuanced philosophical tradition, her right understanding of human dignity, and under the patronage of Saint Joan of Arc, the Argument Club for Women aims to illuminate our embattled culture with the Light of Christ.
The Club is modeled after the very successful Argument of the Month Club for Men, an event that offers men in our region an opportunity to consider issues of real concern to Catholics. It is attended by men of many different points of view and provides a civil but public forum for debate and discussion. We wish to emulate this approach by raising questions of real concern for women – but without compromising our conviction that the Catholic vision of human life reflects the truth brought to us all by Jesus Christ himself.
