St. Cecilia, ora pro nobis!

This carving of St. Cecilia is from the old [La Crosse] Cathedral and held it's place of prominence somewhere near the organ balcony. Legend has it that it was rescued from a dumpster by a parishioner of the Cathedral when the church building was being razed in 1959. This is real craftsmanship. If you were to have this carved today, one could easily spend thousands of dollars. A generous person brought the carving to the Cathedral Rectory in order that it might be photograph it for use in an upcoming bulletin since the Memorial of St. Cecilia is coming up on Friday, November 22. St. Cecilia is the patroness of musicians.
Here is the bulletin
