100+ demonstrate at Franciscan Skemp La Crosse to protest abortion policy

Expose Mayo was featured on News 8 yesterday. However, it is unfortunate that they said there were only a “handful” of protesters, when in reality there were over 100+ faithful supporters! Thanks to everyone who joined us yesterday!

Still nothing from the bishop at this point.  I wonder at what point the protest will move to the chancery.

It will be a cold day in hell before Bishop Callahan says or does anything. He like like his maker, Cardinalk Dolan, and at all costs he wants to be liked by all sides in an issue. The lives of the innocent unborn do not count!

So I was told back when that planned barrenhood was not allowed in town because Bishop Burke stood strong

Bishop Callahan is very pro-life. It takes a man of strength and faith to wait patiently and say something when the moment is right. This hospital hasn't performed abortions and the doctor, while he is there, does not carry them out either. Maybe you might want to encourage the doctor to stay there so that he could continue to see the value of life more and more.

Dr. Rose tried to kill a child, repeatedly recommending killing him, while on site in La Crosse. If it were your child I doubt you would be so optimistic about him "staying there" coercing women into abortions. Franciscan Skemp should at least offer Catholics(not to mention anyone atheists included) the option of only seeing doctors who have a morally acceptable stance on life issues.

Was an abortion carried out? No intrinsically evil act was carried out here and you seem to want to coerce people into protesting-- based on hearsay -- against a Catholic hospital that has not carried out such atrocious acts nor has the doctor, while there. Also, I am a mother, who had a child late in life and I was offered all the testing including an abortion. The child you speak of could easily have been my child. Don't be so quick to assume my circumstances. It did greatly sadden me that a doctor would even suggest an abortion but the answer is simple. I believe in life from the moment of conception to natural death. I'm am prolife -- for everyone's life -- even the doctors. His life is also precious and his soul worth saving, isn't it.

Yes, Dr. Carl Rose has carried out abortions.

This isn't based off of hearsay, the CEO of Franciscan Skemp confirmed the practice to the La Crosse Tribune.

How is enabling a soul to perform abortions helpful in saving his soul?

At this hospital? You appear to contradict yourself from what you said in your first comment? Also, why not protest outside CVS, Target, and every other pharmacy if you really want to make a point about abortions being carried out each day. All sell the morning after pill, yet I don't see you there or protesting the pharmacists? What really is your point. Is it really about life or just so that you can vent your anger. If it's about the doctor carrying out abortions at another hospital, protest that hospital and the doctor. No? And by the way, you last sentence in your previous comment -- they are your words. I did not say that. But it shows when you are that angry how you manipulate what others try to say. So Sad.

'how is enabling a soul to perform abortions helpful in saving his soul?'
good point. I think the other 'Anonymous' unfortunately does not see the gravity of what is going on here. This abortionist has been known to coerce countless women into abortions. This is serious! We can't just sit back and let this abortionist take more lives! We need to let him know that what he is doing is not okay! Yes we need to save his soul! Yes I agree with Anonymous that Bishop Callahan is very pro-life and it would be completely shocking and unlike him to take a position other than to ensure that the abortionist is removed from this Catholic hospital. I am confident that he will support the culture of life! Until then we will continue to witness on the street corner and defend the most vulnerable. This can be extremely humbling but Christ assures us, "Blessed are they when they INSULT you and spit upon you and utter every evil against you FALSELY because of me..."

Listen Kathy, you can try and harass all the pro-lifers you want, but it's not going to work here. If the CEO admits in public comments to the La Crosse Tribune that doctors working at Franciscan Skemp must legally and morally offer an abortion as a solution to a crisis pregnancy, he is wrong on both grounds. When you say "Maybe you might want to encourage the doctor to stay there so that he could continue to see the value of life more and more," maybe you could elaborate on how that works. If you have some evidence that contradicts the facts on this issue I'd love to hear it. All we have here is what is being reported publicly. If you want to accuse prolifers of being "angry" and "prideful" and shout them down out on the street when they are holding signs and praying, be my guest, apparently it's worked on a few. But the public policy of Franciscan Skemp is why it has now become the permanent site of 40 Days for Life prayer demonstrations, services and vigils. Prayer and especially public prayer is what will change the hearts of abortionists and administrators.
