Wisconsin Family Council will be involved with the National Day of Prayer (NDOP) event at our state capitol in Madison. Participate with us! Pilots involved with Prayer Flight will be flying over our state capitol with “prayer in the air.”
Join us as we use this opportunity to together pray for our country, our families, our churches, our communities, our elected officials. The call to prayer is Biblical. The call to national prayer is a blessing. Congress established a National Day of Prayer in 1952; having the commemoration on the first Thursday of each May began in 1988 when President Reagan signed a bill fixing the day of the annual observance.
WFC president Julaine Appling lends this encouragement, “America’s unique beginning and heritage should encourage all of us to participate in some way in this year’s National Day of Prayer. Invite people to your house Thursday evening, hold a special service at your church, have a special family prayer time. Do something to commemorate this day and be thankful for a country where we still have at least a semblance of religious freedom.”
