A collaboration between two city departments, the Wisconsin Historical Society and the Sisters of the Divine Savior, North American Province, has resulted in the creation of a new website containing photographs of the old St. Mary's Convent at the corner of N. 35th and W. Center streets.
The convent was demolished last year after officials determined the building was beyond saving. The convent was built in 1900 and was the home for a religious congregation, a nursing home, a school and a rehab clinic.
The website came together through the efforts of the Public Information Division of the City Clerk’s Office, the Historic Preservation Commission, and Wisconsin Historical Society and the sisters.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle. 2 Thes 2:15
