Des Plaines Guadalupe Shrine hosts "Interfaith Prayer Vigil for Migrant Children"

An Interfaith Prayer Vigil for Migrant Children will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1170 N. River Rd., Des Plaines. A Healing Mass follows at 7 p.m.

According to information provided by the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, more than 40,000 unaccompanied minors are in detention centers in the United States. The United Nations has declared this a Humanitarian Crisis. People of good will are invited to pray and call to the government to resolve this crisis in a Christian way with love and compassion and a need for immigration reform.

“We’re inviting people from other organizations, representatives from the government, immigration attorneys and people from other churches,” said Joaquin Martinez, one of the founders of the shrine. “We’re not sure how many will attend. We haven’t done this for a long time.”

Martinez added that Father Marco will conduct the Healing Mass. He will present the Holy Sacrament and pray for people, standing along the aisles, to be healed.

.... This seems a little unclear, but is it a "Interfaith Prayer Vigil" or a "Healing Mass?"  I assume we don't have some weird open Communion situation....
