Wisconsin and the Extraordinary Synod on the Family

When it comes to the CheeseHead State and our voice at  next week's Extraordinary Synod in Rome, virtually all of the focus has been on our own native son and former La Crosse Ordinary Cardinal Burke in light of both his prominent position as the Prefect for the Apostolic Signatura, as well as the drama playing out in the media over his repeatedly confirmed (though not yet officially) "demotion" as well as his collaboration in the publishing along with several other Cardinals of the Church and scholars of the book Remaining in the Truth of Christ:  Marriage and Communion in the Church.

Their Eminences, Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Cardinal Raymond Burke
along with Cardinal Rigali, Archbishop Emeritus of Philadelphia
In addition to His Eminence Cardinal Burke, it is important to remember for us here, that, though not a native, former Archbishop of Milwaukee Cardinal Timothy Dolan will also be there.

Beyond these two red-hatters though, there will be another voice (well two voices) there from our great state:  Alice and Jeff Heinzen from Menomonee are among the 14 married couples from around the world invited to the Synod.  They are the only American couple.

For more information on this inspiring and faithful couple, check out the full article over at the Catholic World Report
