Yes, light blogging

The Germans have been coming down hard lately, with 60 hour work weeks.  Are The Germans in cahoots with The Germans - Hierarchy Führers, I have my suspicions.  I'm sitting at work and a friend texts me a Belloc quote on page one of a Pat Buchanan book found at a thrift store.  It's blury so I'll reproduce.

We are not... approaching Socialism at all, but a very different state of society ... in which the Capitalist class shall be even more powerful and fare more secure ... a society in which the proletarian man ... shall change their status, lose their present legal freedom, and be subject to compulsory labor - Hilaire Belloc, 1913

Did I mention our local Argument of the Month club is reading Fahrenheit 451 for the next debate?  Maybe psychosis is setting in but somehow these things are all related.  I've been talking to myself a bit more than usual lately.

I had a great trip to Holy Resurrection which I owe you all a post for.   They have a new vocation from Milwaukee:

Totally missed this but 10 parishes in the Diocese of La Crosse going ad orientem for Advent?  via FatherZ
The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Big River, WI began ad orientem worship on Sunday. Our pastor, Fr. Kevin Louis, has been with us for a littler over a year now…. In talking to our deacon after Mass this morning, it appears that there are about 10 parishes in the La Crosse Diocese that have turned things around. Ours is a small but very vibrant and faithful parish and we are so blessed to have Fr. Louis. Please prayer for him as we pray for you and all priests. Praise God for faithful priests!
There only maybe a couple others I've heard of, but if any of you want to post it in the comments feel free.  I think Necedah and maybe Wisconsin Rapids?  I've been a bit hesitant about posting good news for fear of reprisal considering the current climate in the Church, LOL.

Always so much news, news, news, don't forget some prayer, fasting and almsgiving this Advent.  Don't lose your soul to save the Church.  - From the Badger Catholic's new book, Things I Start Saying to Myself During Periodic Fits of Wage Slavery And Self Doubt.
