Green Bay Diocese hosts Red Mass, Federal Judge speaker Oct 16 for legal community

The annual Red Mass for the Diocese of Green Bay will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at 5 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay | Click Here for interactive map. The celebrant will be Bishop David L. Ricken.

The Red Mass marks the traditional opening of the judicial year in the U.S. During this Mass, all members of the legal community and those who hold public office, including judges, governmental officials, attorneys, legal staff, paralegals and law school faculty, are reminded of the importance of their vocations and ask for God's guidance in administering their office or position with wisdom, justice, fortitude, compassion and counsel.

Federal Judge to Speak at Dinner

The Mass will be followed by the annual dinner sponsored by the St. Thomas More Society of the Diocese of Green Bay. The dinner will be held at Riverside Ballroom located at 1560 Main Street in Green Bay | Click Here for interactive map. The Society is proud to announce that this year's after-dinner speaker will be The Honorable Diane Sykes from the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
