Family Planning Health Services taunts

State auditors claim that two Wisconsin family planning clinics overbilled Medicaid by $3.5 million, mostly for birth control drugs and devices. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) issued preliminary findings in August to Family Planning Health Services, Inc. and NEWCAP, Inc., stating that they overbilled Medicaid by $2.3 million and $1.2 million, respectively, from 2010 to 2011.
As reported by the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, Inspector General Alan White defended the audits and their conclusions stating, “This administration, this agency has put a great deal of effort into improving program integrity, and (auditors) take it very seriously…And protecting the taxpayers of Wisconsin is their predominant responsibility.”
The tragically misnamed Family Planning Health Services (FPHS), based in Wausau and run by Lon Newman, operates in a fashion very similar to Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, peddling a culture of promiscuity and distributing abortifacient contraception on a regular basis. Worst of all, the vast majority of these “services” are supported by taxpayer funds.
