RadioMKE: Explore one of Milwaukee's oldest churches

Coming up on November 5th, four Milwaukee-area churches are opening their doors and inviting you in.

Organized by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, the day-long event — VIP MKE — will grant access to areas not normally seen by parishioners. VIP, short for “Very Important Parishes,” will also provide shuttle service connecting each church.

So, leading up to the event, OnMilwaukee’s Bobby Tanzilo and I are giving you a peek behind the scenes and touring a few of the churches taking part.

Keep scrolling to visit Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Walker’s Point. Originally a German congregation in the 1850s, the church is now a staple in the Latino community, offering Spanish language services.

88.9 is a hipster on steroids station in Milwaukee, to the point of overkill. They play great indie music, but I stopped listening to them a month or so ago. They are big pushers of gay marriage/LBGT "rights" and they're very close to Planned Parenthood. It was hard to have to listen to their propaganda on social issues when I just wanted to hear the music. It's good that the Church has a voice in various outlets for the purpose of evangelization, but these people are working to subvert everything the Church stands for on morality. I'd suggest Catholics tune them out. The culture is rotting. We need to start making bold choices and not look back. And this one is an easy call.
