Schola.... who me?

I was asked to help sing in the schola at the Cathedral of St Joseph the Workman in La Crosse.  On Friday, May 7th they will have a Latin Novus Ordo Mass at 5:10 pm for the feast of St Joseph the Workman(yes the feast is May 1st).  Cathedral has a Latin Novus Ordo Mass every First Friday by the way.

But little did I know the choir director wanted me to audition!  Well I am no singer, that is for sure.  So I thought what the hay, why not try it.  I know some of the propers from attending TLM.  Well turns out they were just doing Missa de Angelis and Credo III, which I do know.  Buuuuuut, for the audition, Dr. Luckner had me sing a Christmas carol which I guess is easier since we all know them.  I sang O Little Town of Bethlehem (an Episcopal hymn, by the way) and he said I can hold a tune, which is news to me.

Needless to say, I feel like a real man now.

That's funny! Unlike you, when I sing, people turn around and look at tone deaf man who thinks he is singing. Maybe that is why people leave so fast.

LOL, INOM, we first met at a First Friday Mass at Cathedral, even though I don't think you remember.
