Who is the new priest at St Mary's church in Tomah, WI

I saw someone came across my blog searching on this.  I don't know and there has not been any appointment yet publicly by the diocese(I checked the latest appointments and no mention).

I did heard they have a yearly Polka Mass in Tomah....

Just sayin....

UPDATE: My sincerest apologies!  The Church being referred to was SPARTA not Tomah.  There's no Polka Masses in Tomah, thanks be to God!  Public Correction Here

I wish they'd have a priest lined up for these assignments when they take a priest away from a parish.
Regarding 'Polka Mass': Is yours a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' opinion? (Sorry, but I couldn't tell.)

Blechh...I can certainly do without them.

Something about them just seems inappropriate.
I know others that love them....but to me it just ain't right.

I don't understand how anyone ever connected the words 'Polka' and 'Mass'.

JMHO

That was a thumbs down Anon. :) I completely agree with you. Polka music was certainly not made for the Mass, it was made to dance to! I thought I'd rib any parishioners that are reading this.

Some have said it is a liturgical abuse, I'm not sure there's been any specific order condemning them. But our area is full of them, and they are advertised in the events columns in the The Catholic Times by our diocese.

It seems like our bishops have bigger fish to fry but it would be nice to hear them speak about the importance of sacred music. ... Polka is alot of things and none of them are "sacred."

I agree completely!

I, too, would like to hear a Bishop's opinion...someday!

Hmmm... in the five years I was a parishioner at St Mary's, with Father Kachel as pastor, I never saw or heard about a Polka Mass. Is this something new? I can't imagine Father would go for something like this, but as I've been away for a couple of years, who knows. Maybe you can call St Mary's and ask?

I'm not sure about St Mary's-Tomah. The last time I was at Mass there, was in early January. I can't remember ever seeing anthing in the Catholic Times for a Polka Mass (DOUBLE THUMBS DOWN, DOUBLE TOES DOWN)at that parish. If I'm not on call at work, our family may go this year to their Oktoberfest.

Honestly, I love Polka Masses and wish there were more! The Polish people are a HAPPY people and have so much FAITH that they want to always show their Joy to God! Yes I understand that most parishioners go to church to think about their sins, etc However, the Poles go to the Lord's house to pay their dues to Him (rejoice). Most of the Polish folks follow God's Laws and obey scripture, so they are enthused to see the miracle at the Mass!
