Holy Redeemer Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Madison

Thanks to laurazim for sending this info.  Below are pictures of the current Perpetual Adoration Chapel at Holy Redeemer Church in Madison which is part of the Cathedral Parish.  It is currently undergoing renovation. What an excellent devotion especially at a cathedral parish.  You have to check out the 3D rendered video of what it will look like when it's done.  One thing though, don't forget the kneelers!

La Crosse has an Adoration Chapel at Blessed Sacrament parish.  I'll take some photos so you can see.  It's definitely not this beautiful though although it's certainly wonderful that their parish has made that available for everyone.

You'd be surprised at how many people are in that Chapel. Lots. Lotsa Lotsa.

That is awesome in the true sense of the word. I told laurazim I know where I'd be a member if I lived in Madtown.

Nice pictures and good information. I'm curious to see what it looks like after the renovations' are completed. I'm interested to know when Madtown is going to have a Cathedral again.

Not sure that I agree with you that it as beautiful as Blessed Sacrament's in LaCrosse. Blessed Sacrament's Adoration chapel looks to much more intimate, not to mention the beautiful icons in the front and back of the chapel, and very nice crucifix above the tabernacle. The picture that I have on my June 7,2010 post doesn't do Blessed Sacrament parish's chapel much justice.

How about the perpetual adoration chapel at St. Rose Convent? Talk about beauty!

Yes Father, I was going to mention that but I thought I'd start with the parish setting first. The sisters do let others come in and pray with them though, and an absolutely stunning chapel. I'm glad they haven't tried to make any changes to it yet.

And INOM, we will agree to disagree there :) Holy Redeemer have a monstrance, Bl Sa doesn't even have that.

About the Cathedral.....well, when the economic environment shows that fundraising is even feasible, it will come back to the table. (If you're unfamiliar with the events leading up to the necessity of a new cathedral, you can check out www.isthmuscatholic.org and see the history of the parish there--the original cathedral, St. Raphael, was burned by an arsonist about 6 1/2 years ago.) Bishop Morlino is not into spending money he knows people do not have. If he was, then things would be moving along more quickly. As things stand, the Bishop says his stational Masses at St. Patrick, which, along with Holy Redeemer (site of the Adoration Chapel), is part of the Cathedral Parish. For larger diocesan Masses (ordinations, Chrism Mass), another church in Madison is utilized, since St. Patrick has neither room for the people nor the clergy that a Mass of that size brings in. We're not "happy" with the arrangement--everyone wants to see a new St. Raphael Cathedral take shape--but we all understand and appreciate that it's not a one-man decision.

As for what the chapel will look like post-reno, the link to the site is there in Badger Catholic's entry. You can click on the 3-D Rendering link on the left sidebar of that site and see the presentation. It could never match an actual chapel built specifically for such, as it's an undercroft room--but the design is beautiful, and no matter what the room looks like, Our Lord makes the whole room radiant in His Beauty. +JMJ+

laurazim, thanks for the details. Hopefully it won't be 40 years before you are able to enter the "Promised Land" again.
