A month of mandatory bed rest after back surgery has not stopped Catholic Bishop David Zubik from doing his part for the Steelers. He has made a bet with Archbishop Edwin O'Brien of Baltimore, in which the prelate in the city of the losing team will make a personal donation to Catholic Charities in the victor's city and wear the sweatshirt of the winning team for the remainder of that team's season.
Archbishop O'Brien proposed the charitable donation -- which will come out of their own pockets, not diocesan coffers. But Bishop Zubik, a veteran NFL bishop who previously led the Green Bay diocese, thought that was wussy.
"I said, 'We have to make this a little tougher,' " he said, and proposed wearing the other team's sweatshirt.
Bishop Zubik also loves the Penguins, but is not willing to make the same deal if Pittsburgh faces the New Jersey Devils in those playoffs.
"I never want to make a pact with the Devil," he said.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle. 2 Thes 2:15

It is reliably reported that Abp. Listecki has undergone a conversion to the side of the angels, becoming a Packer fan, thus reducing Purgatorial time.
He and Cdl George have a wager on the game, the details of which I forget.
