After an eight-month break, officials with St. Paul's University Catholic Center are back with a scaled-down proposal for a new campus student center.
The latest plan calls for a six-story building, down from 14. All student rental housing has been dropped, said Jeff Karls, the center's associate director.
The cost has declined from $45 million to $25 million.
The initial plan had been criticized by some students, neighbors and city officials as too big for its surroundings on State Street Mall.
The new proposal, which is starting to make its way through city committees, calls for replacing the existing structure at 723 State St. with a building with a multi-level chapel, offices, music rooms, gathering spaces and a multi-purpose hall suitable for dining. The chapel would have seating for more than 500, Karls said.
Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle. 2 Thes 2:15

So gorgeous. I just love the (from my very un-architectural understanding) Byzantine-like feel of it.
I like it Kat, not sure what the interior would look like. I hope it does well and the bomb shelter can go away.
when will it be finished?
