Grotto of Our Lady of Fatima blessed at Holy Hill

For the last few years, my wife Laura has wanted to make a pilgrimage to Holy Hill. For one reason or another, we've never done it--even though it's only about 50 minutes from our house.

When our Mother's Day plans fell through late last week, Laura decided she'd like to finally make the pilgrimage. We packed a picnic lunch and headed over for the 12:30 Mass. As a result, your humble correspondent was able to grab some photos of the blessing of Holy Hill's Grotto of Our Lady of Fatima. I had hoped to post these pictures yesterday on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, but the folks at Charter Communications accidentally slashed their own fiber optic cable, rendering me internetless.

Nevertheless, we hope you'll enjoy a few snapshots of the day.

The ceremony was held in both English and Spanish

The incense was going for the entire ceremony.

I've got some others of the grounds that I hope to share in a future post. Some of them were outside shots that Matt wasn't able to grab on his pilgrimage because he drove over in the middle of a blizzard.
