Green Bay ICKSP moves to new church, first Mass this Sunday

From a reader:
The date for the move of the Institute of Christ the King Green Bay (St. Joseph’s Oratory) from diocesan property over to St Patrick’s on the west side of Green Bay was moved up and the first Masses there will take place this coming Sunday.

INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING
First Solemn High Mass
10 a.m., June 29, 2014
St. Patrick’s Church
211 N. Maple Avenue
(Parking lot off of Ashland Avenue)
Potluck Banquet to Follow

A new altar has been quickly constructed and put in place. Kneelers will be used instead of a complete communion rail as St. Patrick’s underwent a wreck-o-vation years ago and the gorgeous communion rail hasn’t yet been found; neither has the original altar but it may have been destroyed.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know.  I realize there’s a lot going on this weekend, but there it is.  There will be a Low Mass at 8 a.m. Daily Masses will be at 8 a.m. everyday as well with extended confession times promised.

What was the reason for the move?

A final Mass at Holy Redeemer......and a first Mass at St. Patrick's.

The small diocesan chapel was simply outgrown. Many young, large families attend regularly. The space and bathrooms were inadequate to handle all the people. There was no gathering area large enough for potlucks and banquets, catechism classes, etc. A home base with all of the above will be ideal, even if in a less than desirable neighborhood.

Than God that you are being to pray the T.L.M. We here in central Minnesota want so very much to be able to have a T.L.M.every Sunday and at a time so as we fast from midnight until we receive our Lord, that it won't be until 11;30 /12:30. You are so blessed. Sincerely, ssoldie

Thank you so much for posting this, otherwise I don't think we would have found it.
We went for the first time this past Sunday and it was absolutely beautiful. I have only been to Extraordinary form of the mass a couple of times so it was different and appeared a bit difficult to follow but just watching and smelling the incense touched my heart. It was so peaceful and reverant compared to the norm. Afterwards a nice man came up to us and said welcome, we told him this was our first time and he pointed out the Little Red Books in the back of the church that we could follow in Latin on the left side and English on the right side. I briefly read over one before leaving and it all made sense.

We are looking forward to coming back soon. Green Bay is so blessed to have this option available every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

What days, times of both Latin and English masses? Can you follow with your own prayer book from years ago?
