This was posted two days ago on a Twitter account called Cream City Catholic, a 1985 letter from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee granting someone permission to attend the traditional Latin Mass. It would be interesting to know what the specific conditions were that had to be satisfied before such permission was granted, as stated in the opening paragraph. We should also note the conditions attached, that the letter had to be presented at the chapel to gain admission, and that the permission could not be extended to anyone else (“not able to be extended to other friends or family members.”)continue at New Liturgical Movement
First, thank you for the Badger Catholic blog. I followed it when I was away from Wisconsin. Now that I am home, I read more regularly. Thanks for reading and welcome back! Yes, that Mass times listing post was compiled with the help our friends at the TMS of Madison. Blogging for a million years like me makes me realize that some posts don't age well. However, it is still helpful to know where there are or have been Latin Mass groups, but keeping up with Mass time changes is not doable.
Now to my question. I have struggled to find Latin Mass options in Milwaukee (I live in Menomonee Falls) and recalled having seen a list on your blog. But the page doesn’t look current. I’m hooked on the First Friday Extraordinary Form at St Mary Visitation (Elm Grove) with Musica Oramus, which you’ve mentioned on the blog. Wondering if there are more?

On Tuesday 28 November in Madison, the Extraordinary Ordinary confirmed using the traditional Roman Rite. There were quite a few confirmands. We had people from Kansas, Minnesota, Maryland and North Carolina along with folks from area.more at Father Z
I had a note from a reader that St. Stanislaus Kostka, nearly taken out by the building the Kennedy Expressway, will have its first TLM in many decades.
Everyone one in Chicagoland should go and support this Mass. It is very important.
Here is a link to our Facebook event page for this Holy Mass:

Many young Catholics feel that they have been denied an inheritance that was rightly theirs. They have had to reassemble piecemeal something that should have been handed to them intact. An English academic recently told me of his attempt to obtain a copy of the Dictionnaire de théologie catholique, a reference book that went from impeccable authority to liber prohibitus at the time of the Council. He contacted a Belgian who helped declining religious houses dispose of their libraries. This Belgian found a Franciscan community that was willing to sell its set – but at the last moment took a different course. The monks decided to burn the books, “to prevent them getting into the hands of traditionalists”.Catholic Herald - The Kids Are Old Rite

Here are a few photos from last nights beautiful Confirmation and Mass in our Archdiocese. Last night it was very encouraging to see so much effort put forward by so many for the traditional liturgy.more at FatherZ
Confirmations in the Traditional Rite followed by a Pontifical High Mass at the Faldstool took place June 7th, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis, MN celebrated by the Most Reverend Andrew Cozzens. The music, featuring Palestrina’s Missa Papae Marcelli, was provided by the Chorus Omnium Sanctorum. Confirmands from five area parishes participated and nearly 700 were in attendance.
Today, we bring you pictures from one of the rarest liturgies in practice, the pontifical baptism from the 1962 ritual books. The celebrant was His Excellency Bishop Robert Morlino; the ceremony occurred several weeks ago at St Patrick’s church, with a family from the Cathedral of Madison, Wisconsin.continue at New Liturgical Movement
750+ people on Friday night for Cardinal Burke. Standing room only in a large gymnasium. Good talk. He took some questions that had been submitted on paper. First question was about whether we should go to "Novus Ordo" or Extraordinary Form for Mass.
- He said the important thing was to go to Mass, not if it was the Ordinary Form or Extraordinary Form.
- He said both are the unbloodied sacrifice of Christ on the cross and both are valid.
- He said if we felt like we got more out of one than the other, by all means go to one or the other.
He handled it very well. People applauded loudly, much to the dismay of numerous SSPX people in the audience.

Chicago's amazing Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica will host its first Traditional Latin Mass in over 40 years at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 30. The Mass will be part of the annual Christmas week bus tour of historic Chicago churches organized by Prayer Pilgrimages, featured in Extraordinary Faith Episode 4, along with another High Mass in the Extraordinary Form at St. Mary of the Angels Parish at 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 29. Everyone is invited to both Masses; you do not need to be part of the bus tour.
Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica is well-known for being the site of the film narrated by Archbishop Fulton Sheen, The Immemorial Tridentine Mass. Its massive High Altar and arcade of Side Altar alcoves are quite something to behold.

Last night here in the Diocese of Madison we had Solemn Mass for the Feast of St Andrew and the Sacrament of Confirmation administered in the Traditional Roman Rite by His Excellency Most Reverend Robert C. Morlino, aka the Extraordinary Ordinary.continue at FatherZ
Cardinal Burke directly rejects the Holy Father's characterisation of the Latin Mass as an "exception" in his interview with the online newspaper La Fede Quotidiana [FQ]:EWTN
FQ: In the new book by Father Spadaro “In your eyes is my word” Pope Francis called the traditional Roman rite an “exception”. What do you think about this?
Cardinal Burke: That it is no exception. It is the Mass of the Church of all times and therefore it can not be overthrown and has equal dignity. For the rest, the motu proprio of Pope Benedict XVI is sufficient. It is unambiguous.
Among the many heroes of WWII, people often forget that clergymen also risked their lives in the war. They weren’t there to fight against flesh and blood, but to offer help fighting the spiritual battle that continues even (especially?) during war.continue at ChurchPOP
Below are 7 amazing videos of Mass being celebrated in war zones by brave priests during WWII. Note that since it was before the Second Vatican Council, the Mass that was celebrated was what is today called the Extraordinary Form.
